A car slowly pulls up and stops behind a long line of other vehicles waiting to cross the US border from Mexico. As a vendor weaves in and around the parked cars, a couple sit and wait for their turn to cross. Jenna Foxx, a vibrant all-American college student, has just taken her boyfriend, Jack Hunter, on a surprise trip to Mexico for his birthday.
They reminisce about their long weekend and how this point of entry was supposed to be the faster route home when a man in uniform suddenly knocks on their window. As Jenna rolls it down, she notices Nick Capra circling the car and gesturing.
Before she can say anything, the man orders her and her passenger to step out of the vehicle and follow him inside for some routine questions. Jack looks up at the man in confusion, while Jenna nervously agrees and opens the door — urging her boyfriend to cooperate. Jack is pushed inside a small interrogation room with a one-way mirror. The man in uniform slams him down into a chair, as he watches his girlfriend being led into the room by another man.
She is visibly shaken and looks longingly at Jack before being asked to sit down. The man who escorted her stands behind the chair and signals to the man in uniform. In an emotionless tone, the man in uniform looks at Jack and informs him that he and his girlfriend are suspected of smuggling substances across the border. Jack is confused, explaining that they were just on a trip for his birthday. Ocean fishing. His girlfriend's surprise.
The man in uniform coldly remarks that it wasn't the only surprise his girlfriend had been planning this weekend. Jenna's never even had a speeding ticket! Jenna looks at the ground, her hands fidgeting. She seems much more hesitant to make eye contact with him now. Jack feels a rush of anxiety and turns back to the man in uniform, asking to see what proof they have. The man signals for the other to search Jenna.
Without much of a struggle, he pins the woman down and removes a stash from the inside of her jacket. At first, Jack doesn't believe it and accuses the men of planting evidence, even questioning whether they are actually law enforcement at all. Jenna begins to break down, apologizing profusely to her boyfriend as she rambles incoherently. It was a mistake, they promised her nothing would happen, it was only going to be this one time.
In a panic, Jenna turns to the men and begs to speak to them in private. She can explain everything. Her boyfriend can just wait. Jack can hardly believe what he is hearing. What is his girlfriend talking about? He stands dumbfounded, as the man leads Jenna down the hall and to another room, and the man in uniform closes the door behind them.
Turning to face Jack, the man advises him that a search of their vehicle has revealed even more substances. The car panels were lined with it. The young man slumps back into his chair, putting his head in his hands to gather his thoughts.
The man takes a step toward Jack and asks for his identification. Obediently, Jack takes out his wallet and hands it over. The man in uniform looks at it before putting it in his back pocket. After an anxious pause, Jack asks what will happen to them? The man in uniform smiles a broad, toothy grin and takes another step forward. It's time for the full cavity search.
He orders the college student to remove all his clothing. Jack protests … Why does he have to be strip searched when he clearly didn't know anything about this? If he could simply speak to his girlfriend to understand what is going on. The man in uniform says Jack's girlfriend is already confessing.Jack asks him what he is suggesting.
The man in uniform explains that the cartel likes to use families and couples as unsuspecting mules to smuggle their substances internationally and that the most common method is internal bodily concealment, so they have no choice but to perform a full search on all suspects. Furthermore, if Jack is as innocent as he suggests, then he doesn't have anything to lose. He can simply comply, do as the man says, and things will go much smoother for everyone.
As Jack removes his clothing at Disruptive Films, the man in uniform goes to a small cabinet and takes out a box of rubber glove sand a metal bowl full of lube. He deposits them on the table in front of Jack, who is now holding himself awkwardly.
Once told to move his hands, Jack closes his eyes in embarrassment and drops his hands to reveal himself. The man in the uniform slowly walks around him, looking him up and down, before informing him that they will begin the body cavity search now. Jack looks up at the ceiling, his mind racing about Jenna and what she could have possibly done.
